From beyond the Abyss (V.)

May ALL adepts attain the City of Pyramids

"..What's been felt
What's been known
Never shined through in what's been shown
Never be
Never see
Won't see what might have been
What's been felt
What's been known
Never shined through in what's shown
Always free
Never me
So "I" dub thee all-forgiving..."

From beyond the Abyss (lV.)

May ALL adepts attain the City of Pyramids

How to get there, one might wonder.

One way:

"The only correct and adequate mode of the Attainment of Understanding is to shut off and to inhibit the rational mind altogether, thus leaving a Tabula rasa upon which the entirely alien faculty -- de novo and sui generis -- can write its first word.

But then (it will surely be said) what is more unintelligent than this supposed Intelligence? than this formless, even delirious Ecstasy which sweeps away all shapes of thought? No sane man would deny this premiss: but the explanation is that this Ecstasy is (so to say) the throe of Birth of the new faculty. It is surely natural for an observer to be startled, for the moment, by the discovery of a new Universe. Ananda must be mastered manfully, not indulged as a vice in the manner of the Mystic! Samadhi must be clarified by Sila, by the stern virtue of constraint: and then appears the paradox that the new Law of the Mind has "come not to destroy but to fulfil" the old.
The Understanding takes full cognizance of all that vast material which the Reason was unable to build into any coherent structure. The contradictions have disappeared by absorption; they have been accepted as essential factors in the nature of Truth, which without them were a mere congeries of Facts.

It will be clear from all these considerations that there need be no surprise at this primordial paradox: that Scepticism, absolute in every dimension, is the sole possible basis of true Attainment. All attempts to shirk the issue by appeals to "faith," by mystic transcendental sophistries, or any other spiritual varieties of the Three-Card-Trick, are devoted to the most abject destruction.

One cannot "find the Lady" by any other way than that of the Knight-Errant, of the Great Fool -- the Way of the Eagle in the Air -- whose Sacred Number is the Sacred Zero. Yea also, Naught being All, and All being Pan, the only due address to Godhead is in the dual form

For all must be destroyed that All may be begotten."

From beyond the Abyss (lll.)

May ALL adepts attain the City of Pyramids

Thus I have heard:

0.
There is no me; there is no you; there are no forms, skandhas(1) are empty. And yet, nothing else exists apart from me and you; skandhas are imputed upon the ever-(non)-existing Thusness(2), and they appear (not) like clouds from the empty sky.

Trillions of forms are imputed from within upon the Thusness and are non-dual with It. (3)

And one who has attained the Mind-of-no-effort(4), has completed the non-journey, and is joyfully abiding in the Union of No-more-learning(4).

1.
He is utterly indifferent(5) to positive, negative, and neutral states within and without, for he has seen the ultimate truth.

The infinite power seemingly drives him on, and on, and yet, he does nothing, for events are non-arising, non-abiding, ever non-existent, and self-liberated.

He is fully aware of the twelve deceptions(6) that bind those without the Right view.

Having seen through the sphere of neither-perception nor-non-perception (7), nothing binds him, for he is not. And since he is not, object and subject are (not), and everything is as it always has been, is, and forever will be (not), he is free.

He doesn't care at all about anything. And yet, the Love and Compassion is the Word at one with the Light.

2.
Just by being, he is constantly creating the manifested Universe. (8)

What is seen is he in myriad forms, and through these forms, he can be known. (8)

When he looks within, the Universe collapses; when he looks without, he is (in) Love.

And through being (in) Love, he is omnipresent, directing herself and her children.

3.
She can be known only through her powerful presence, for she is darkness in its uttermost transparent sense.

In this no man's land, only the seen can be seen, only the heard can be heard, and there is no one there to say, 'We are one, we are none'. (9)

And yet, her nature is all-embracing, receiving and giving.

She has united with innumerable adepts in the most intimate of ways, for she is the Mother of all the wise ones, the Sacred whore, the Everlasting yoni, the Queen of demons and men and women alike.

There is none else besides Her.

1. Skandhas: aggregates that generate everything in the field of the mind in the broadest sense.

2. Thusness: words lose their meaning here, but he seems to refer to the so-called dharmadhatu, the primordial nothing that is everything. In Liber B vel magi, this is referred to as "...the grade of Ipsissimus the Mystery of Selflessness, also called the Mystery of Pan." (Liber B, 15.)

3. It Seems he is talking about the Heart sutra (forms are empty, emptiness is form, etc.).

4. These two phrases denote final spiritual attainment, the level of Ipsissimus.

5. Nothing touches the madman.

6. He is sharing the doctrine of "dependent origination", twelve links that "produce" duality and suffering/enjoyment on all levels.

7. He has attained the trance nirodha samapatti.

8. "By His Wisdom made He the Worlds; the Word that is God is none other than He." - Liber B, 2

9. No mental identification of being something or someone remains.

The Will - old and new

Ra-Hoor-Khuit
The basic notion of The Book of the Law and of the Thelema in general is all but new and fresh.

The notion I am talking about is:
"Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law."

The similar notion is old news in Tantric tradition, dating many hundreds of years back if not more. It is called Svecchachara in Sanskrit.

My point is that executing ones innermost Will is essential to the spiritual awakening and it has been for ever. Nothing new about it.

Avadhuta Upanishad is closed by these words:

"Sveccha means one's own wish or free will. Svecchachara means a way of life where one acts as one wishes and does what is right in one's own eyes. Doing one's own Will. The concluding Sanskrit expression in the Avadhoota Upanishad is "Svecchachara Paro."The term "Paro" means a mysterious or secret pattern to that action done by one's own Will. In other words, we do our Will but with discretion, not making it too obvious, nor to harm or hurt other people. Yet this is also a typical Nathism; a complete reversal of Vedic morals and philosophy."

"The Will" is also mentioned in the Yoni Tantra, one of the most influential texts in Tantra.

This Sanskrit word Svecchachara means a spiritual state in which an individual may act according to her or his own will. As she or he is Shiva incarnate, there can be no morality, but only freedom from the rules of the pasu or herd-person
who is fettered by the mind.

"One may be like a child, a madman, a king, like one in a swoon, like an independent spirit, like a Lord Hero, a Gandharva, a naked person, a Tridandin or like one teaching knowledge for gain. The way to be is to act however one wills."
(Kaulajn ananirpaya, Patala 8)

Kaulajn ananirpaya is an ancient tantric text, dating back to 9th century - more than a thousand years old.

That said, there is a will and there is the Will.

And the Will I am talking about here is the so called adesh, the will of God/Goddess/HGA. When it is attained, outer masks and human roles in life just don't matter anymore. The Inner becomes the only source for inspiration, action and passion for Life. The little candle in human heart becomes equal to the glorious stars, never pretending to be more than just a candle, completely embracing its full potential and claiming Divine inheritance.

What is new, however, is explicit focus on the individuality or the crowned child-ship of God, as it were. It is the focus of the Horus Eon, as per Liber Al: personal and transpersonal freedom from social, cultural, educational and other systems and also from both the Mother and the Father (Goddess and God form).

Therefore:

"There is no law beyond Do what thou wilt" - Ra-Hoor-Khuit
Liber AL III:60

Grimorium Verum operation

Grimorium Verum (Latin for True Grimoire or The Grimoire of Truth) is a medieval text that outlines detailed procedures for preparing and evoking powerful (elemental) spirits.

It is an advanced text; it can be paralleled to the illustrious Book of Abramelin.

Various Grimorium Verum editions and books are available. I recommend the one by Jake Stratton-Kent.

Well, I was inspired by my Goddess Kalika to dedicate my time to completing Grimorium Verum evocations (GV operation, as I refer to it).

INTRO

I read through all the text lots of times, really dedicated my time to trying to comprehend the essence of the text, and I decided to skip the tedious medieval preparation instructions (you will know what I mean when you read the book :) ), knowing that those material deeds and tools may or may not be crucial for the operation. Such preparations accumulate a lot of energy, though, so going through with them may be a good idea. Not me, however. I am not a traditionalist and love to improvise.

I have a lot of experience working with spirits and Goetia evocations, and I employ no tools (circle, triangle, ring, etc...), and it works out very well. Besides, Abramelin's operation is stripped bare of all material tools apart from a consecrated space, wand, and oil. The GV operation can be concluded in similar ways. My Kalika was there with me all of the time.

ACTION

I followed inner inspiration and commenced the GV operation on Thursday last week; I did it in my office (where I usually perform various magick rituals, Aethyrs visiting, etc...); I consecrated the place with Abramelin oil and drew a circle with my wand around my seat. Pure white energy was pouring out of the wand like a laser beam. I also offered incense to the spirits I was about to evoke...

I also had all the sigils outlined in the book printed on an excellent paper. I intended to request spirits to sign their respective sigil, thus taking an oath of allegiance to me. I understand this to be equal to requesting the spirits from the Abramelin operation to swear on the word squares.

According to the GV, there are three Kings, six Deputies, and various powerful subordinate spirits - all under King LVX Ferre and his emissary, Scirlin.

The debate on the true identity of the powerful spirit Scirlin on the EM (the thread can be viewed here >> - the website is usually offline for some reason) has helped me a lot in understanding the nature of the spirit:

Scirlin

With the above character (according to the GV book) in my left hand, I first evoked Scirlin. I immediately saw a change in the room, and upon my request to see it in human form, I saw a lovely lady. It was Scrilin. I knew that a relationship with her was the key to a successful GV operation, so I took some time to establish a base for a friendly relationship with her. No threats, no "if you don't deliver, I will..." etc..., just clear thoughts and intentions. Initially, she was unwilling to cooperate with me, but the situation changed when I focused on my Devi, Kali. I also kindly let the Emissary know that the incense is also burning in her honor.

From my Tantric practice, I know that most spirits are miserable and covet the elemental energies, which can be offered to them via incense, water, fire, oil or perfume, and flowers or food or stones. According to the Tantric tradition, spirits have no mouth, so they "eat" via the sense of smell.

I also offered her fire (and a powerful perfume later on in my apartment), and she was most pleased.

I moved on with the evocations, starting with the great king, LVX Ferre.

I will refrain from outlining the details; let's just say that we are "friends" now (GV says that "spirits will offer their service to those that have good relations with them and are 'friends'"; I am paraphrasing here of course).

The relationship with Scirlin and later with LVX Ferre introduced rather intense transpersonal realizations regarding the nature of the spirits.

GV operation completed

To make a long story short, Scirlin was on my side, and spirits listened to her, some slightly intimidated by her, some more rebellious but still willing to cooperate.

They charged their respective sigils (or, as the GV says, they sign the sigils), thus making themselves available.

Just today, I summoned Scirlin and asked her which spirit would be particularly good for my task, and she suggested Elantiel. I summoned him, or she called him over; he was docile and willing to assist me. He even asked some questions. The operation was a total success.

That was it.
